I'm trying to install the education version of Inventor Pro 2017 but it failed.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the community..

First thing.. Don't use the web installer.. Follow these steps:

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.

2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

But it may still fail due to this (your log is showing this issue). If it does fail using this method, please post your installation log file here so we can review it. Posting info: Sometimes installation log files contain personal information such as your serial #. Prior to posting your log file please make sure to remove such info.

Good luck on your installation and report back on your progress.

Yeah its still failing on the information I had already provided. Review its solutions and restart your installation after you do those steps.

Update: Also are you sure you are using the install files that were downloaded and extracted like I specified? Your log is still showing you are using the web installer.

OK, so I followed those instructions, and got the same error with the Visual C++ 2013... so I deleted those and tried again, but I'm still getting this error (just showing the last bit of the log)

my computer also has 2015... should I delete those at the same time as the 2013? Is there anything in there that would hold it up?

You are not following my steps.. If you downloaded and extracted the files from the Autodesk VIrtual Agent you log file wouldn't be listing download and install steps. Your installation is failing due to the method you're using.

If you did the steps from Virtual Agent it wouldn't being downloading because there's no files to download once the full media is on your machine. Stop whatever you're doing and follow the steps to the Autodesk Virtual Agent or

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.

So I went back and did it for a 3rd time~ with a fine tooth comb. I HAD been working from the Autodesk download, and HAD downloaded from there~ so was very frustrated.

The problem was that when the Autodesk Virtual Agent download instructions said "Look in your download folder" I used the one on my browser downloads, rather than a separate folder I had to create on my desktop to download those downloaded parts into.

Finally, success.

It's taken me over 10 hours to get through downloads, restarts, and troubleshooting. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, but I'm not an idiot either. It shouldn't have been this hard.
