My hard drive failed and had to be reset to factory condition. After doing so I re-installed 2007 LT and seemed to install fine. However, it will not load when I try to open it now. Any ideas on what could be the problem or how to trouble shoot?

Hello @Anonymous,

What Windows operating system are you trying to operate 2007 software on, make sure you meet the system requirements. Software is tested to run on specific systems that have been tested by Autodesk to perform properly, newer operating systems may not support an older version of Autodesk software.

Make sure you have the installation media saved locally on the machine or to a USB etc. Try a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall, then try to install the product again.

Please "Accept As Solution" if a reply has helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Sorry but your operating system is considered unsupported for the product, 2007 software was not tested to run on a Windows 7 OS, it may work but not likely.

I realize that Natasha. You're only giving me what I expected to hear from Autodesk support which is not much help at all. I ran 2007 LT flawlessly on Windows 7 for many years. When I upgraded to Windows 10 a few years ago it also ran without any hiccups. The only reason I'm in this situation is that my hard drive failed and had to be reset to factory settings which caused me to have to reload AutoCAD LT. I'm hoping there's someone else on the thread who might be able to give real help as opposed to Autodesk who wants to force me into buying an annual license. I love your program, but frankly paying an annual license is way too expensive for a very small business like mine.

For all we knew.. Since your hard drive failed that you put Windows 7 on after that.. There's no indication prior to your hard drive failure that you had Windows 7.. So don't assume we know what you had prior to this.

Just because it worked in the past on an unsupported OS doesn't mean it will always work.

To me it sounds like you have a bad install if nothing is appearing and Acad.exe doesn't appear in the task manager when you launch it. I assume you have full admin rights, UAC is set to never notify and you have disabled your anti-virus/malware scanning utilities.

I would perform a clean uninstall per these instructions. Just make sure to adjust settings if you have other Autodesk products already installed/working on your machine. Then install again with the information I provided above.

Update: In addition you are coming here looking for a support for a product that' 10 years old. Its not always easy to remember issues related to this product.

@Anonymous

Another thing you may have to do is to run Acad LT in compatibility-mode.
