Hello,

I am a teacher at St. Jean De Brebeuf C.H.S. and we are currently running AutoCad 2017 LT.... we were running 2007 version before. I thought that the Autocad Lt would support 3d modelling but apparently it does not. I am looking to change the version of Autocad Lt to AutoCad 3d. We were granted 1250 seats for our board for LT. I personally only require 70 seats of the AutoCad 3d version. What are my next steps and who can help me please?

Hi @adriano.stillo,

Yes, AutoCAD LT does not allow for 3D modelling. I have moved your post to Installation and Licensing to perhaps get some suggestions to go through this process. I assume you are using educational licensing so you might use the Education Community page also where there is support for your type of licenses.

@adriano.stillo

Since you're in the educational community and can receive free educations license for the school, not sure why you would be hanging onto a 11 yr old product (for so long). In addition if you need 3D, I wouldn't recommend AutoCAD. Start using Inventor or Fusion 360 (if your school machines meet the requirements). Not saying in the real world there's no 3D being doing in AutoCAD, but AutoCAD is not a true solid/parametric modeler. I strongly suggest that you teach your students what the real world is needing (3D Solid modeling).

In the end create an educator account and request the software that you need.
