Developer Tools installation fails

Hello everyone!

I started out programming within the VBA environment of Inventor to create my first own tools.

Now I would like to make experiences in programming Add-Ins for Inventor, which is why I want to have a look at the templates for Visual Studio that Autodesk provides and the other stuff that is inculded in developertools.msi , but unfortunately the installation always breaks with this message:

Error message when trying to install the developertools.msi

I have not found any relevant information for this specific issue and hope one of you has a clue to solve this.

Software I am using (running on Windows 10):

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018
Visual Studio 2018

You have a version of visual studio 2018 you have installed with 2018 inventor:

2018 will maybe not be supported.

To my opinion only 2015 is supported. or maybe 2017. but not later versions.

this is something that happens already for ages...
just close the process through task manager and all the files remain in the install folder.

Or you can also simply unzip the data that is in there
