Serial Number not valid (student version)

I got my serial number from the Autodesk site, but when I type into the program,it says it's not valid. Before I also downloaded AutoCAD 2018, and the site gave me the same serial number. Could that be the reason ? What should I do ?

It looks like you're getting an "Invalid Serial Number” message or having trouble with your product key while trying to register and activate your Autodesk software. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

And check Error: "Invalid serial number" (standalone activation)

For product key information: Finding Serial Numbers & Product Keys

If you’re having an issue with your product key, please make sure that you are using the correct one for your product (especially if your product comes from a suite). Finally, you should type then numbers and letters in. We do not recommend copy/paste.

Hi @Anonymous,

If you still have the serial number that starts with 900- followed by nine digits, kindly go back to Education Community to obtain a new serial number that starts with 901- followed by 8 digits instead.

To activate your free three-year software license:

1. Sign in to your Autodesk account at www.autodesk.com/education/free-software

2. Select your product for activation

3. Click 'Sign in" and enter your credentials

4. Click 'Download now'

5. Select: Version, operating system, and your language of choice. Your new serial number will appear, starting with 901.
