Deploying AutoCAD 2019.0.1 update forces reboot

I've added the AutoCAD 2019.0.1 update to my AutoCAD MEP deployment, now when that installer is run, at the end is a 'mandatory' restart dialog. How can I suppress this dialog?

(when we deploy a new computer, we run a script that installs A LOT of software, and rebooting in the middle would mess up the script).

Hello @dtiemeyer,

Have you tried clicking the "Close" button? Does that still proceed with a restart?

Then run the update later after you have installed the other software.

well, deploying to a second computer (albeit this one 'virtual') did not cause the 'reboot' dialog, but it still sent a 'Finished' dialog with a close button. I guess when we choose Silent install, I'm kind of hoping it to be 'completely silent' as in no-user-interaction-necessary.

I recommend to apply the contained MSP patch directly to the acad.msi. Then you have no problems with additional reboots and dialogs.

To extract the patch file use:

AutoCAD_2019.0.1_Update_64bit.exe -e .\out

This extracts the acad.msp file to the .\out folder. In this folder is a folder "ExtractFiles" with the patch.

Thank you m.latz, that is something I scan script with and should be able to avoid the dialogs!

I had tried the /e switch but that was unsuccessful, so I thought that option was disabled. Thanks for showing me how!
