    <description>&lt;P&gt;The "Too many activations" warning for the old style, perpetual standalone licenses doesn't refer to number of concurrent installs.&amp;nbsp; It's the number of automated activations available - you've exceeded the normal value.&amp;nbsp; You'll need to put in a service request to get a manual activation code for the new computer.&amp;nbsp; Once that's activated and running, just uninstall on the old computer.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello all,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this. I have a system at work currently licensed and running 3ds max.&amp;nbsp; My company just purchased a new computer for me to work from home a few days a week.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;My question is what is the process to transfer the license from my current work machine to my new home machine when I need to work from home.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;So that means perpetual?&amp;nbsp; With perpetual license you're allowed to install and activate on 2 machines as long as they are not being used as the same time.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; No need to transfer license back n forth.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;You can uninstall on the original&amp;nbsp;computer if you no longer&amp;nbsp;need it on that device. Then you can install the application on the new device.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;LI&gt;Conduct a&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall" target="_blank"&gt;Clean Uninstall&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp; on the &lt;EM&gt;original&amp;nbsp;computer&lt;/EM&gt; &amp;amp; use the&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed" target="_blank"&gt;MSfixitTool&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;to complete it&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Natasha,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a similar question, My office is running building design suite 2017 and I recently began to use 3Ds max 2017 on both our office PC and my personal laptop at home in non concurrent mode. However, I realized my&amp;nbsp;desktop at home is a far better machine for me to work on and would like to disable the license on my laptop and activate it on my home desktop without compromising my office PC license.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The license is commercial.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Could I simply uninstall it off my laptop and install the product on my desktop using the serial and product key?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS. I'm very new to this licensing process.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm having a similar problem.&amp;nbsp; I have 3dsMax 2010 and installed it on Windows 10.&amp;nbsp; Then, I found out that Windows 10 updates can cause unwanted Re-Activation.&amp;nbsp; Ten days from now, that would have failed!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was able to move my copy of Maya 2010 using the License Transfer Utility, but for some reason I didn't have one for Max.&amp;nbsp; So, I found this forum and uninstalled Max.&amp;nbsp; It didn't release the License and I can't activate my other install!&amp;nbsp; I noticed that you mentioned Fix It, but it's not finding the Max install (guess it was complete?) and I don't know the Product Key.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Uninstalling doesn't release any license aspect...&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Fixit is only used when you can't fully uninstall it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/1649869"&gt;@Mark.Lancaster&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have both Max and Maya.&amp;nbsp; I have a Win 10 machine and a Win 7 machine and I am trying to transfer the working licenses from the former to the latter.&amp;nbsp; I had no trouble doing this with Maya using its License Transfer Utility.&amp;nbsp; For some reason, Max did not have the LTU installed, so I uninstalled Max hoping that the license would be released.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But I still cannot activate Max on the Win 7 machine because it says I have too many.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Product Key I was referring to is the long number Fix It asks for when it can't find the thing you're trying to uninstall, but this is probably irrelevant now.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
