      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi all,&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have installed AutoCAD 2018 student version and unfortunately after the installation I get this error :&amp;nbsp;"The License manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD will shutdown now".&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have tried everything in this&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-2017-fails-to-launch-after-install.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-2017-fails-to-launch-after-install.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But nothing has worked. I have re-installed but its still the same. The only thing I could say is I had the AutoCAD 2015 version and it was working without this error and I uninstalled that just before I installed the 2018 version.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please help. I desperately need it for my university work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Did you also try deleting the LGS file? Please try the steps below:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;If an&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;I&gt;LGS.data&lt;/I&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;file is in the folder, delete it.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Use a text editor such as Notepad to create a text file named&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;I&gt;LGS.data&lt;/I&gt;&amp;nbsp;file in the folder.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Open&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;I&gt;LGS.data&lt;/I&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;in the text editor and type one of the following in capital letters on the first line of the file:&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;
&lt;DIV&gt;_STANDALONE (if your product license has a serial number)&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Save&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;I&gt;LGS.data&lt;/I&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;and close the text editor.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Important&lt;/STRONG&gt;: Verify that your text editor did not save LGS.data with a hidden “.txt” extension. See&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://knowledge.autodesk.com/article/How-to-show-hidden-file-extensions" target="_blank"&gt;these instructions&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;to be sure that extensions are not hidden.&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

I have done that twice and I got a case number and everything but I have got no response at all for weeks now. &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":confused_face:"&gt;😕&lt;/span&gt; customer service seems to be extremely horrible from Autodesk.. I really need the software for my uni work next week.. no idea what to do. do you know any other way to contact them?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for that. wasn't aware of it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I contacted a similar place and they said since this is a licence issue and since I have tried every other solution, there is every chance this could be an issue from Autodesk end. So I may end up paying them for no reason.. Also the Autodesk student part of the website says they are having some issues with licences of student version so..&amp;nbsp; so so frustrated&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;It sounds like the license service is not running on your machine..&amp;nbsp; Can you check Windows service and see if this highlighted service is running&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Guess what, I just installed it to a different computer using a friend's student account and he get the EXACT SAME ERROR... it had nothing to do with my laptop. then this is clearly an issue with Autodesk right?&amp;nbsp; Not sure why they are not even replying to emails&lt;/P&gt;</description>
