I know how important it to Autodesk to stop illegal use of their software by having the software confirm it is a legitimate license.

I've been working with Autodesk techs and software vendor now for 6 months with not solution to our problem

If indeed this is our network problem and our IT dept can not find the cause.

It would make sense that Autodesk could code a piece of software that can be used in lew of AutoCAD checking for license every time it starts. It would only work with verified licensed software provided by the Autodesk certified dealers. It would never work for illegal copies.

I have worked for this company for 16 years and have ALWAYS had legitimate AutoCAD software (Purchased from an Authorized dealer)

I have AutoCAD 2018.1.2 and AutoCAD 20191.2 installed on a Windows 10 version 1703

I continue to get 2 script errors and license manager errors

I can run fine for a week or so then they both fail with the same errors.

I had worked with the Autodesk techs for 3 weeks but they were not able to find the cause.

They had me do complete uninstalled (Per there complex list of things to uninstall)

Reinstall. update all service packs.

They would run fro a week or so then fail

I've also worked with our software vendor techs and they are unable to solve this.

When this happens I'm givin new authorization numbers. This will work for a week or so and then they fail once again.

These are standalone installs.

Specs:

Windows 10 enterprise ver 1703 (Local IT wants to try ver 1809 to see if this help

16 gig Ram

500 Gig SSD

Corporate Network

There are 2 other users that have the same problem.

I've tried EVERY suggestion on these forums and internet without success.

I've removed the "Language" at the end of the Shortcut ICON. did not help

I've had corporate IT White list all AutoCAD file types from McAfees "On Access Scanning" No help!

Just hoping someone out there has seen this and found the cause.

Thank You !

Ron

Very large world wide company

Hello @Anonymous,

The script error indicates this is an issue with the language selected for the operating system & the application.

Solution:

Right-click the AutoCAD 2018 icon, go to "Properties" > "Shortcut" tab, delete the /language "en-US" from the Target text box and then start the program.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello @Anonymous,

If this solution did not work then we can move on to the next steps. These errors indicate a URL is trying to be reached for the application to run properly, so this is an access issue.

What makes these selected computers different then the others that can run the application without these errors? Do these script errors appear after a specific event or function, so when exactly? Does the operating system indicate a error in the system logs etc.?

Please review the following:

Connection issues Adjust Lan Settings, Proxy Settings & etc. , or try a different network location

Try running the application under a Windows profile with full Administrator privileges

In Microsoft® Internet Explorer, set the security level settings to the default level for all zones

Apply all service packs, critical updates, and security updates available for Internet Explorer

In Internet Explorer, empty the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Clean out your temporary folders for your user account and the operating system. (To access the Temp folder, enter %temp% in the Address box in Windows Explorer)

Mark,

Since this is a Huge corporation many things are not allowed on ANY computer

Can not disable McAfees, Can not Edit the registry.

Currently there are 2 users experiencing the errors.

These errors typical occur every 7-10 days.

We can get new authorization codes from our dealer and we are good for another 7-10 days.

This has been going on now for almost 6 months.

Yes these were continuation of Maintenance plans going back to version 2012

We will be going to another plan Subscription the first of the year.

Our IT dept has made several changes to "Policies" and have added Whitelist of AutoCAD file types to the on access virus scanning.

Autodesk techs were not able to give us a solution.

We have been working with our Dealer and they have not offered a solution.

I have tried EVERY thing that they both have suggested. All versions have the latestes updates installed

AutoCAD 2018.1.2 and AutoCAD 20191.2

I have done complete uninstalls (With explicit instructions for Autodesk to ensure ALL files and folders are removed)

This has not solved the problem

Our IT dept continues to look for solutions but have not found one.

From what I see happening is when the software is loading, I see one instance of "Checking License" it continues and then later I see if "Checking License" this is where it stops and gives the 2 script errors and final a license manager error. Once this happens I can never get it run again later that day or another day with out getting a new authorization number from our dealer.

Well after about 6 months of Script errors and license manager errors, I final found the cause of all of these problems.

I normally migrate all my settings from the previous version and have never had any problems with everything working correctly.

This was a new install of Full AutoCAD 2019

Someone in our local IT group noticed that the 2 errors showed that it was looking at my network assigned folder.

So I began to scour through all of the settings and default folder locations. Nothing was found.

So one day I was on another workers computer that had used my Migrated ZIP folder to create the same workspace.

This had always worked also.

Upon looking at the options menu under the "Plot & Publish" tab. I saw in the "Plot to File" location was my personal network folder !!!! YIKES that can't be correct.

So now I know that when you do a migrate settings it is not recommended for others to use your file.

So I began to set every ones "Plot to File" locations as C:\Autodesk

I have been error free now for over 4 weeks

I will be retiring on Friday Feb. 1st After 30 years of AutoCAD work. I was blessed with the companies that allowed me to do this work and excel at a job I only dreamed of.

Thank you Autodesk !
