In the options file we have a group that should max have 1 user at a time:

GROUP VaultGroup test_user_sales test_user_eng_editor test_user_us_editor

MAX 1 86563VLTM_2016_0F GROUP VaultGroup

When starting Vault on the 3 PCs the log-file writes correctly for 2 PCs:

DENIED: "86563VLTM_2016_0F" test_user_sales@XX.XXX.XX.XXX (Checkout exceeds MAX specified in options file. (-87,353))

DENIED: "86563VLTM_2016_0F" test_user_eng_editor@XX.XXX.XX.XXX (Checkout exceeds MAX specified in options file. (-87,353))

But all 3 can work normal and does not receive a license denied or other warnings.

What is the problem?

In your license file.. Is the Vault 2016 entry by itself or in a group allowing your access to other versions of Vault?

Its a Token license with INCREMENT lines for each version:

INCREMENT 86563VLTM_2016_0F adskflex 1.000 30-nov-2020 9999 \

...

INCREMENT 86646VLTM_2017_0F adskflex 1.000 30-nov-2020 9999 \
