      <title>Maya 2018 does not start</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello Support,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;since the beginning of this week I can not open Maya 2018 anymore.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I would really appreciate suggestions and help - thank you very much in advance!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;My Setup is the following&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;HP Z440 Workstation&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Nividia Quadro K2200&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Windows 10 Pro 1607&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Maya 2018 (annual subscription till June 2019)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;What exactly happens&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When I start Maya the Login-Window comes on.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;After entering the Data a blank Output-Window opens.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Maya.exe is run in the background (can only be seen in the Taskmanager).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;On the Windows-Screen nothing happens.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;What I did to solve the issue&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Updating GPU Driver&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Doing a clean Uninstall and Reinstall&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Repairing existing Installations&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Repairing Autodesk Licensing Service&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Clear Flexnet files&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Setting Flexnet to start automatically&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;What I can not do (due company regulations)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Setting up another Windows-User-Account&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Reinstalling Windows&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;You can try the steps below to reset &amp;amp; regenerate the LGS file, it seems to be what you are describing.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Close &amp;amp; reboot the computer&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Locate the following folder:&lt;BR /&gt; C:\User\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ADUT&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Rename this folder to:&amp;nbsp;ADUT2&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Delete the three (3) files prefixed with&amp;nbsp;Adskflex&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;from the following folder:&lt;BR /&gt; C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\ &amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;EM&gt;*Note:&lt;/EM&gt;&amp;nbsp;The above files are Hidden files. You may need to enable "Show Hidden Files" in Folder options.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Delete, create &amp;amp; save a LGS.data file following these steps:&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Create a LGS.data file &amp;amp; delete the original: Open &lt;EM&gt;Notepad&lt;/EM&gt;&amp;nbsp; Type at&amp;nbsp;the very top&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt; &lt;EM&gt;_USER&amp;nbsp;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Change the file extension&amp;nbsp;to &lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;.data&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Save it to the Desktop &amp;amp; place it in the folder&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\&amp;lt;product key&amp;gt;_&amp;lt;product version&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;8. When you launch your Autodesk software, you will be prompted to sign in&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If the above did not resolve the problem, also try:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17228/windows-protect-my-pc-from-viruses" target="_blank"&gt;Temporarily disable security settings&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;like Antivirus, Firewall &amp;amp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/975787/guided-help-adjust-user-account-control-settings-in-windows-7-and-wind" target="_blank"&gt;UAC&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;on your system&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Meta-licensing.html" target="_blank"&gt;Subscription Licensing Issues&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Update your product with the latest service pack or Hotfixes by visiting the&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="http://www.autodesk.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Autodesk website&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;or&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://manage.autodesk.com/" target="_blank"&gt;account&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What other components might be missing? The thing is that maya stopped working from one day to the other, so I think it has something to do with an updated software in connection with Maya. No new software was installed, neither were updates (knowingly).&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&lt;A href="http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Use-Windows-Utilities-to-Maintain-Your-PC/" target="_blank"&gt;Event Viewer&lt;/A&gt;&amp;lt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;to locate the system error associated with it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;One of the common solutions may need to be conducted:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Sign in as Administrator or&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13951/windows-create-user-account" target="_blank"&gt;Create a New User Account&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;(Full Control user permissions)&lt;/LI&gt;

&lt;P&gt;1) The event viewer does not show anyt Maya-related errors, warnings or anomalies&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) Maya does not start at all, so I can not change any viewport settings.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3) The Nvidia Quadro K2200 runs with the latest drivers (not Maya certified) - the Maya-certified drivers are not compatible with Windows 10&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4) Disabling Antivirus Protection does not help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I also tried resetting Windows to a prior state which failed. Now I consider a complete new Windows setup.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Have you already tried to update Windows 10 to the latest build? Running older builds could lead&amp;nbsp;to scenarios like the one you are seeing. I'd give Windows Update a try before re-imaging the system.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I had my system being setup completely new.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The windows build now is 1803&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I installed MAYA 2019 and it still has the same issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This is how it loos in the taskmanager, when Maya is started, but nothing actually happens.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If this problem cant be fixed soon I will definitely cancel all my subscriptions because this is a waste of money and time.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;From our systems, it seems that you already logged a support case. At any point in time you can ask for a remote session through the email that you received, and that will be sent to the support team taking care of that.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;A remote session would be helpful for us to have a closer look.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
