How to change or reset licensing for 2020 relase Autodesk software

Hello,

My question is how to change licensing type for 2020 relase if the Autodesk software does not start?

In previous version, working method from this link:

In 2020 relase products, folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\ is not created.

Are you getting the Licensing Manager improperly installed?

Well, he didn't provide any details, so I assumed his license is sign-in based and he skipped the part where he's asked to delete the LoginState.xml file. That's the only reason I can think of why the LGS.data file would not be created.

We'll probably be able to provide more assistance once we get more information.

I used network license an it work's fine but now license server is shut down and I want use single user license. When I start AutoCAD I receive FlexNet License Finder window (this is obvious becuse license server not working) and I can not click any icon from AutoCAD so I can not change license type. See screenshot.

This process is covered in the Change License Method section of this page. The example covers changing the license method for AutoCAD 2020 to a user license. Another option is to replace the USER reference after -lm to "", which will set the license method to none. In this case, you'll see the Let's Get Started dialog when you launch the next session of AutoCAD and you can select the desired license option there.

Because I love you guys, here's the way reset the licensing back to factory:

Open an elevated command prompt and enter this:

"%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" change --prod_key 001L1 --prod_ver 2020.0.0.F --lic_method "" --lic_server_type "" --lic_servers ""

Just copy/paste that into your CMD prompt and hit enter. There should be no result. But when you launch AutoCAD, it will ask for your license type.

Note: Just change the product key and product version for other 2020 products. To find the products installed, just use the same command with the list switch.

AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe list

Try it like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" list output>C:\temp\list.txt

It creates a file in a folder temp. After that you probably need a json pretty printer to read it.

Hello

I face the same issue with Revit 2020. Tried all described way but i can't manage. Can't Autodesk provide an easier tool. I think i will simply uninstall and reinstall Revit that would be less brain consuming.

Try putting this comman in a cmd window. It should reset Revit. After restarting it should ask you what license type you want to use.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" change --prod_key 829N1 --prod_ver 2022.0.0.F --lic_method ""

Thats up to you. I do this daily with a tool. The tool does a bit more like stopping a service and closing AdSSO.exe, which sometimes prevents the command from working. Revit of course has to be closed, but you probably knew that.

A tool is exactly what Autodesk should provide. I tried many ways but impossible, there might be also a security admin policy that blocks me.

Thanks a lot. I will try later cause now i have to render a 3DS Max animation, might take 6 hours 🙂 Your tool seems to want to work because he tells he can't stop adsso.exe.

Long time i didn't work with Man & Machine. New the company in France in 1999.
