topic Script Error Message When Starting AutoCAD 2020 LT in Installation & Licensing Forum

Today I loaded the AutoCAD 2020 LT version to give it a try before buying. I've been using various versions of AutoCAD, daily since 2000, but this has me stumped. I removed AutoCAD 2014 from my computer, which is running Windows 8 & Google Chrome, downloaded AutoCAD 2020 LT easily, with a little effort had it running and started to insert my personal settings. Then I shut it down, later went to use it again and was faced with this script error message that is stopping me from using AutoCAD even though I can see my open file behind it!

This message goes away when I click on Yes, No or close the window but I'm left with this message which I can only get rid of by closing down the program in Task Manager.

The closest thread I found to find a fix was in this link, and I tried every possible solution with no luck.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Script-error-when-starting-AutoCAD-or-AutoCAD-LT-2017-2018-and-2019.html

So then I reinstalled the program with no difference, still the same script error message every time. The weird thing is it worked fine earlier so I can't imagine how it could be a hardware compatibility, installation, or software issue because it worked ... but only once!

Has anyone had this happen and would share the fix? Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks. John

Problem fixed! But unfortunately I don't have the solution. Later yesterday I started up AutoCAD to show my son the problem and it worked as it should without the script error. Nothing was done on my part since posting my original problem ... no computer reboot, no third AutoCAD LT reinstall, nothing. It's still operating as expected today, so hopefully all is normal but I wish I had the logical reason for why there was an error, but I'll take it!

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. My %temp% folder had ... let's say a few files more than what should be healthy!
