HSMworks ultimate 2020 will not run so can't activate

After many hours of unsuccessful attempts and absolutlly no help from chat, I have given up up trying to see what HSM is all about.

Tried to install HSMworks 2020 ultimate, installed just fine but will not even try to start, tried 2019 version as well same problem. Installed fusion 360, installed and ran without issues. Think it is time to move on, can't learn when it won't run.

Well @Anonymous this is your first post anywhere on the HSM Forum, so not sure why you said no help.

We need more info on what is happening, like which version of SolidWorks are you using, what OS (Win7 or 10) and computer specs and so on.

Initally I could not even post here. so I tried the chat, worthless.

What I was told was HSM works with fusion 360, cause I don't have solidworks, apparently that is not the case.

HSMWorks is a Solidworks Plugin. So it requires Solidworks to be installed.

Fusion 360 is a separate thing, with a lot of functional overlap. If you purchase a Fusion 360 subscription, you also have the right to use HSMWorks -- if you have Solidworks.

So does this mean you can not use HSM Editor if you do not have solidworks?

Effectively, since you need to be able to run HSMWorks (in Solidworks) in order for the Editor to run.

So you can't use HSMeditor with just Fusion360 period?

You can use it, as long as you have, and are using, one of the other products for which its usage is authorized.
