License transfer, still can use as render node?

Plan is to get a more powerful PC for 3ds Max and transfer my license from old PC to it. However I would still like to use my old PC as a render node whenI get distributed rendering setup on a small render farm of about 3 PCs.

So when I deactivate/transfer from the old PC can it still be used as a node? The other nodes have 3ds Max installed but never run or activated.

On the old PC do I transfer license and leave max installed? And should I need to use Max on the old PC again, can I transfer the license back from the new PC to use the old computer again without having to re-install Max?

Perhaps a better way of phrasing the question is when a license is transferred off a PC (Max cannot be used on it obviously) does it become a render node, leaving the installations intact?

Thanks for posting.

In this case, you should leave 3ds Max installed on the old PC. Users must install a full copy of 3ds Max and Backburner on all computers participating in the network rendering. The Backburner Server is the only program that needs to be running on each render node for network rendering & these copies of 3ds Max do not need to be individually licensed.

Thank you very much. I will transfer the license from the old PC to the new one and leave 3ds Max installed on the old PC to use as a render node.
