      <title>Error 1603</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi! I'm at my wits end.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm a student trying to install AutoCAD 2020 on my laptop. I had already successfully installed it on my PC. As I understand it, I can install it on up to 2 devices.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I keep getting error 1603 and I've already tried:&lt;BR /&gt;- turning off anti virus&lt;BR /&gt;- clearing temp folders&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- ccleaner&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- disk cleanup&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- turning off firewalls (anti virus &amp;amp; windows defender)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- installing using Autodesk App&lt;BR /&gt;- installing via the download now method&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- multiple restarts&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And I always get to 5 out of 14 during install but it always rolls back to 6/14 then 7/14 then hangs there then stops.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I also tried AIDA but I don't think it's working?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If anybody could help, please do.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This worked for me.&amp;nbsp; Find the C:\autodesk folder and rename it or delete it.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Now try installing again.&amp;nbsp; HTh&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;UPDATE:&lt;BR /&gt;I followed these steps: &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc"&gt;https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And I also ran as an admin on cmd "sfc /scannow", rebooted and tried to reinstall. I even uninstalled my antivirus software (Avast &amp;amp; Malwarebytes) and the installation still failed...&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This finally worked for me!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;EM&gt;If the above doesn't help and the product installation still fails, setup Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service to start from local system account.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Type services.msc in Windows Search and hit Enter key.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;In Services console locate Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service and double-click on it.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Under General tab, click Stop to stop the service .&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Under Log On tab, below Log on as: select Local System account, and hit OK.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Go back to General tab and click Start to start the service.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Try Autodesk 2020 version product installation again.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just want to comment that until I switched the "Log on as" for "Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service" from "This account" to "Local System account", nothing worked.&amp;nbsp; Thanks,&amp;nbsp;@Anonymous.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Maybe I missed it, but I combed through all the .log in %LOCALAPPDATA%\{Temp,Autodesk\ODIS}, and didn't see any hint of this being the problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As an aside, a lot of the .log or .LOG files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp are in UTF-16, so I had to use "iconv" for "less".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I enabled the MSI*.LOG through the "regedit" method.&amp;nbsp; There is no "Logging" in "gpedit".&amp;nbsp; It worked for a while, then it stopped working.&amp;nbsp; I don't know why.&amp;nbsp; Autodesk's .msi cannot be invoked with "msiexec", so I couldn't use the "/l*vx" option to try to figure out what went wrong.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
