topic Inventor 2020 Professional installing on wrong drive in Installation & Licensing Forum

I downloaded Inventor and selected my HDD when it asked where I wanted to install it. After installation finished I found that there is a directory called "Autodesk/WI/Autodesk Inventor 2020" taking up 10.4 Gb of my SSD storage while there is another 3Gb Autodesk file in the HDD. I tried reinstalling but the same thing happened. I manually moved the 10.4 Gb file to my HDD and so far no problems but I am wondering if this will cause problems in the future?

It's not installing on to the 'wrong drive' there are just certain files that are installed on the OS drive (Which I assume to be your SSD).

Long term I don't how stable it will be especially with updates. With most programs there will always be a little bit on the OS drive.

This isn't wrong ...

When you started the installation it asks where do you want to extract it:

I have mine going to a cloud location. You want to keep those folders as you'll need some of the MSI's from it when you do the major updates.

But you're good to move your C:\Autodesk folder and download files to where ever you need to keep it.
