Revit installation problem

Please I need help, I have 20G of free storage on desk C and Windows 10 home, But at the installation part, I can't click "install" in the window of revit and i cant click on brows to choose file install location neither. what I noticed tho is when I go back and choose install tools and utilities instead of install I can click in this case on "install" BUT, not everything is checked " Revit Server " that shares project ext won't be installed. What can I do ???

Hi @Anonymous,

You need atleast 35 GB of storage for Revit however it is recommended you have free space available to avoid system slow downs.

You also won't be able to install Revit Server since that requires a Windows Server OS such as Windows Server 2012 R2.

You don't Revit Server to run Revit.

I have 1T free space on my disk D, I tried to launch place the launch the " Revit_2020_G1_Win_64bit_wi_fr-FR_Setup_webinstall.exe " on that disk but after it was done extracting the thing, it went to C disk /autodesk file. I donno what to do and I can't just delate programs from my C disk since I use them. is there a way to install it on my D disk?

How big is your C drive?

There may be some components that can be installed on your D drive but there are some parts which must be on the C drive such as your user profile, programdata, start menu, icons, MSI registrations, registry, etc. So there's no avoiding installing some of Revit on your C drive.

There's a utility called WinDirStat that you can use to see what is hogging space on your drives. As a rule of thumb you should always have 20% of drive capacity as free space to avoid performance errors. If you need more space get a larger SSD/HDD and clone your current drive over.

If you have more issues upload a screenshot of the error.

@leowarren34 currently I have 22.6 Gb free of 118 Gb on my C drive. I uninstalled all the files related to revit. I tried to reinstall it several time. after launching the autodesk download manager-> choosing language and all of that ext-> after downloading severale Gb ( i think 8 Gb) it never said Launch Afterward. it just allowed me to click Finish Or close ( cant remember quitly ) and revit never launched the program at every attempt. i Kept looking on all files but i could find the app revit. I have robot and Cad on the same file, but the file of revit with them doesnt have the app launcher in it like the other autodesk products

What version are you using?

Have you tried the offline installers?

Based on the information provided you don't have enough disk space. Please review my post on Disk space requirements. Revit 2020 requires 30 GB free disk space, the Browser Download requires 15.9GB + the extraction.

@natasha.l @leowarren34 I delated 10Go worth of a program so I had more than 30Go of free space on my C drive. after hours of installation I ended up with the same problem... installation finish but the revit app can't be found nowhere. what should I do now ?
