Transfer license

Hi everyone,

I have two licenses of Autodesk MS installed on my computer. I want to transfer one of them to my new computer. When I try to do the online transfer the transfer window shows only the details of one of the license (one I do not want to transfer). Can someone let me know how I can select the other license? Do I have to transfer one by one to the cloud server first?

I suggest that your search and/or post to the Installation & Licensing forum since they deal with this type of issue more frequently.

Is this an old perpetual license? What program/version?

The two versions are Autodesk simulation mechanical 2018 and 2016.

The software runs on Windows 10.

But is it a perpetual or subscription license?

If it's a subscription license, you do not need to use the license transfer tool.

If it's a perpetual, you can only use the license on one computer, so you could simply uninstall it from the old one and install on the new one, and generate a manual activation code if the automatic activation fails.

Hi Pola_S,
Thank you very much for the advise. I managed to install the software. I installed the software from the DVD. However, when I open Autodesk Desktop App the update Autodesk_License_Service_(x64)_5.1.5_Hotfix_1.msp was found is this something that I have to install?
