No Autodesk software will install (error code 1603)

I'm a game dev and design student and recently my 3DS just wouldn't launch so I uninstalled it since had to get Mudbox so I thought I'd just install both while I'm at it. Fast forward a few frustrating days later, bot Autodesk applications refuse to install on my desktop. They keep repeating that code which (from what I could find) essentially means we don't know/fatal error. I've tried many solutions on the internet but nothing has worked.

Help me Autodesk Community, you're my only hope.

Thanks for posting in the forums. Yes, the error code 1603 is a generic error, but I have listed some of the most common solutions to prevent it from occurring again.

Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
Check the Operating System needed & the required updates by reviewing the system requirements for the software
Make sure you have an uninterrupted high-speed connection to the internet & try adjusting your LAN & proxy settings etc.
Clean up the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the search bar by the Windows Start Menu and hit Enter, then delete unnecessary (Windows)
Temporarily disable/disconnect security features such as Antivirus, Firewall, VPN & UAC on your Windows operating system.
Install the licensing update before you try to install the product
Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

Hi Natasha

Following all the steps still produced the same results. Internet isn't an issue and residue from a previous installation isn't the issue because I've never installed Mudbox on my desktop before this and has always produced the same results (still did the clean uninstall you recommended though).

Hello @Anonymous,

You may have not prepared your system for a download & have not conducted the proper steps to have a successful download & installation. The steps I provided above are the recommended steps to take before downloading & installing, I recommend starting fresh & following them.

If you continue to receive the error after conducting the steps above, try reviewing the installation log file, determine the prerequisite program that is generating the 1603 error.

Or try to re-create the event/pull up the error again & locate the event error using Windows Utilities then search for it online this will help you determine the root cause.

The log is pointing at the Autodesk Licensing component is exe :Ignored Rollback.

Did you apply the Autodesk Licensing Service update?

Please apply Autodesk Licensing Service Update & Single Sign On Component (2020 & up). Then restart the computer and test the product. If the issue persists continue on to option 2 (Windows).
