&lt;P&gt;But if I copy my installation sources to a shorter path, then the installation works. So I recommend to shorten your path to your installation sources, then it should work.&lt;/P&gt;

However, in the case of Maya, from that error message, it is highly unlikely anyone would be able to narrow down the reason to this "name path length" limitation. I did try the installation this time by placing the files in a shorter name path and it worked. Thanks a lot. By the way, how to determine if my length path is within 260 characters? Do I need to count the number of letters or something?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

But I am sure that in the future if you get a similar error messages you try with a shorter path.&lt;/P&gt;
