Revit 2025: Downloading process frozen at 97% for quite a long time

Hi guys,
I’m trying to install revit 2025, but when I tried the first time the downloading process froze at 97% for quite a long time, so I tried to delete it and download it again but my pc keeps telling me that I still got it.
- I deleted it from settings as will
- I still have revit 2023
Can you guys help me understand what’s wrong? And what to do about it?

Hi, I'm facing exactly the same problem- it got to 97% and stopped for 4 hours...Can you please tell me what did you do?

Hi @four2una

Did you try the direct download links in the 2025 folder?

Clean out the %temp% folder while they are downloading.

Let it run overnight if you have to. It will complete, you just have to be patient. Constantly cancelling the installer will only cause additional installation problems for you.

Indeed incredibly annoying. If you check the installation logs, you'll notice it's waiting for a pipe to do something that never happens. If the Cancel button is available, click it. And if you the get the warning 'Are you sure' or something like that, click Resume. Most of the times this will get the installer going again.

This did the trick for me, haha. I had v4.3 stuck at 98% for about 20 minutes. Click 'Cancel', then 'Continue', and hop right to.

Thanks for your patience! Here's a clear path forward to resolve the Revit 2025 installation issue, where your PC still detects Revit even after uninstalling:

Why This Happens

Even after uninstalling via Settings, residual registry entries and leftover files can cause Windows and Autodesk installers to think Revit 2025 is still installed.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Use Microsoft’s FixIt Tool

This tool helps remove stubborn remnants of uninstalled software.

Download Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter (For reference: Software is already installed)
Run the tool → Select Uninstalling
Choose Not Listed → Enter this product code for Revit 2025:

  {7346B4A0-2500-0510-0000-705C0D862004}

2. Clean Registry Entries (Advanced)

If you're comfortable editing the registry:

Open regedit
Navigate to:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Find and rename/delete the key matching Revit 2025

⚠️ Backup your registry first before making changes.

3. Delete Leftover Folders

Use File Explorer to delete these folders if they exist:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2025  
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2025  
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025  
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025

Also, clean the %TEMP% folder:

Press Win + R, type %TEMP%, and delete all contents

4. Reinstall Revit 2025 Using Direct Installer

Instead of using Autodesk Access or Web installer, try the full installer:

Revit 2025 Direct Download Links (manage.autodesk.com>Products & Services>Revit>Click on the dropdown right next to "Install" option> Click on the drop down again>slecet "Direct Download")
