Revit 2021.1.3 Hotfix not installing

Hello,

When installing the latest Revit 2021 hotfix (2021.1.3) the update starts and gets about a quarter way into the install I get this message.

We had to move our central server for the standards. All Revit seats work fine with the new file locations but the hotfix will not install because the server path isn't there any longer. It doesn't allow for a redirection either. Any idea on how I can install this update and avoid this message?

Pola_S - I did try all that. Just didn't mention it in the original post. None of the options worked.

This error indicates that the installer cannot locate something it needs to proceed based on the currently available settings. Based on the fact that the error references the lookup tables folder, my first suggestion would be to check this setting in the following locations:

Using the Registry Editor, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Revit\2022\RCL key and check the value of the RVT_S_LOOKUPTABLES string. If it still points to the old server, update it to reflect the current location of the lookup tables folder.
Using File Explorer, navigate to the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2021\UserDataCache folder, open the Revit.ini file with a text editor, and locate the LookupTableLocation entry. If it still points to the old server, update it to reflect the current location of the lookup tables folder.

Tony,

The RCL key had the old server name. Why would this not pick the change up from the Options, File Locations menu if the paths were changed there? Also, Is the RCL key new for 2021 and 2022? Previous releases do not have this registry key. Can it be removed from the registry?

The RCL registry key was added as part of the ongoing efforts to improve Revit content delivery. I would not recommend deleting these values but would recommend updating them to reflect the correct paths.

I have not been able to reproduce the hotfix installation failure but I will investigate why these values are not updated to reflect in product changes to these paths, which are correctly written to the Revit.ini file.
