topic Fusion 360 needs a "Refresh Subscription" button to avoid losing work in Installation & Licensing Forum

Today I lost about 2 hours worth of work because Fusion 360 didn't notice I renewed my subscription.

I opened it and it warned me that my subscription had run out. So I go online and follow the instructions to renew. They said that the editor had to be restarted in order for it to be recognized. I thought this was odd, but went along with it anyway.

After restarting, I did not get the notification saying that my subscription was out. Maybe it was supposed to but for whatever reason it did not so I had assumed it was renewed and notice successfully.

I go on about my work, making a new design for about 2 hours. Once the groundwork was setup I went to save and it was greyed out. This was when I noticed Fusion360 did not pick up on the new subscription license.

Without the ability to refresh the subscription in-editor, that work was permanently lost. No recovery or anything, which is a real shame. As I was looking through more documentation I found something mentioning that it can take up to 30 minutes for it to be recognized. If that's the case, why not just let me work for those 30 minutes and then let me refresh my subscription status and then save?

Is there a reason I can't just manually re-poll my account? Surely in the modern era of software, having a button to just ask the servers for my license again would not be that difficult. The software itself is fantastic, but troubles like these surrounding the subscription flow do not inspire confidence.

I agree. I've run into this problem twice now. I hate quitting F360 because of how ridiculous the launch process is (not to mention it seems to make me log in every time).
