We purchased a permanent license years ago and have been on a maintenance subscription since.

We will no longer be updating our maintenance subscription for Maya (is that even possible now?).

After testing Maya 2022 we have confirmed that our current usable install is Maya 2020.

I have read that when the maintenance subscription lapses, you can only use one version(?). If that is the case, we can only use 2020 (not 2022). We need to confirm that Maya 2020 will our the functional install when the maintenance subscription lapses.

Thank you for your message,

Unfortunately those links do not answer my question or address our situation. We have a perpetual license for which we paid our last maintenance fee in February 2021 - we do not have a subscription nor are we interested in trading in for a subscription. I am happy continuing to use Maya 2020 (NOT MAYA 2022) from here on out.

- Below is a quote from Autodesk Senior Community Program Manager Amanda Kinley on the “Subscription, Installation and Licensing” forum:
————————

@Anonymous , thanks for questions! To expand upon what @Mark.Lancaster was saying, even if your perpetual maintenance subscription plan ends, you can continue to use and activate the last activated version of your product (for examples sake, let's say AutoCAD 2020). If you were using 2018 and 2019 in addition to 2020, when the subscription stops, you must uninstall those from your computer.

---------------------

As Kinley stated, “you can continue to use and activate the last activated version of your product.”

Our issue is that we did indeed activate Maya 2022, but it does not work with our system and plugins. Therefore we must continue to use Maya 2020 (again, NOT Maya 2022) from here on out.

I hope this is clear, we need to confirm that we cannot be locked in to Maya 2022 (it was deinstalled from our computer) and we need to lock in to Maya 2020.

Thank you for your help,
Patrick Kelley
