Can't generate license file

Hello everyone,

I'm a bit in trouble with activating both AutoCAD and Inventor for the school where I'm the system manager. The school is approved by AutoDesk for using educational licenses. In 2019, we got a 3000 seat license for both AutoCAD and Inventor. Now the license has expired.

I logged in into our user account and created an license information e-mail for a single network license server, including the key and the serial number. I downloaded the software.

This is where I'm getting into trouble. First, I can't generate a lic file as the product isn't listed in "all products and services". Furthermore, without being listed as a product, it's impossible to create a network deployment file.

So, what might be wrong? Is it really necessary that the product is listed in products and services to generate the lic file? And if yes, what do I have to do to make the next step?

Hello @systembetreuung8DVR9,

You will need to renew or restart to gain access to the generate a license file feature in the educational institutions Autodesk account. The Educational Software program is now offered for a set term of one year. Before the term has ended & the software licenses expire you will need to conduct the approval process to be re-verified if you are still eligible.

An email reminder is sent 30 days before the expiration of your one-year Education plan access.

To renew access:

Make sure you are still eligible for educational access by reviewing who is eligible.
On the Autodesk Education Community website, sign in to your account.
Click Renew Now in the personalized banner notification.
Once you confirm your eligibility, your access will be automatically extended for another year. Any product subscriptions that you hold will also be automatically extended for another year.

To restart access:

If your access has already expired and you are still eligible, you can restart your educational access.

On the Autodesk Education Community website, sign in to your account.
Click Restart Access in the personalized banner notification.
Once you confirm your eligibility, your access will be automatically extended for another year.
Once you've renewed or restarted access, there's no need to download a new version of your installed software unless you want the latest version.

Here's an actual link I found after digging around the site. This should help any other admins looking to generate a network license.

Go there and enter your serial number for the product.

Once you do fill that serial number there will be this fun step.

Then next page will ask you to Type or browse to the Request File.

"The request file is generated by the product when you register/activate your product. To access the request file, start the product. On the Registration-Activation page, click Activate. The request file is displayed at the top of the page. "

SO, You need to install Maya first I guess, even though you're installing a server license and enter what ever information is on that splash screen.

Augh.

I'm going to point out here that if you buy the product you can do this directly from your account page.

Why this isn't offered to schools I have no idea.
