I've been running the License manager with the 2015 license file for quite a while. I upgraded FlexLM to the latest 11.12 version before I started using that file. I never installed IDSP 2015 untill the end of last week. We've always gotten license files that allow the use of Civil 3d 2009 so that we can use C3D2009 Land Desktop Companion.

We don't work in this software but we need it because we have a large collections of projects dating back to 1990. These were done in DCA & Softdesk (same program different name) and early Land Desktop. In these early version the software used a proprietary database format. After Autodesk bought Softdesk they changed to an Access format database format in the second or third release of LDD. We need to be able to run LDD to recover these early projects.

I know there has been a lot changes in licensing structure recently. I HOPE that this doesn't mean that we will no longer be able to open LDD2009.

Here's a little information I got fro LMTools. It says the license expired 06-apr-2015 which is our renewal date. But I don't understand why.

That would have been done by our reseller. I've always gone through them for the license files. But they were bought out by one on the bigger companies. Most of their people were hired by the new company but the guy who always handled this retired. So I'm trying to handle this myself.

this form had to be signed by someone in your company

when this form was submitted and approved by autodesk the license file should have been good for at least 13 months depending on timeframe on when this request was submitted for however many licenses was requested

you should still be able to generate 2009 licenses for however many you owned at the time

It is possible that a serial was broken off for previous use exception under Subscription. That would be a way to keep you from effectively running more licenses than you own. Darren is right though, any exception license is only good for 13-months by default. If you want to keep using it, you will have to ask for another exception. You might be able to do this under the new Accounts page - or thru your Reseller, of course.

I've been searching the Accounts page and all of the licensing help but don't see anything, I guess it's time to see how the new reseller is at handling this.

I turns out that the licenses for older products are now issued with an expiration date. Since I'd been putting of upgrading the license period lapsed. My reseller got us a new license which will be good for 1 year on the 2009 product. I hadn't seen this in network licenses before.
