The switch to windows 11 yesterday was prompted because of this problem. I thought it was a windows 10 compatibility issue so I bit the bullet and endured a long day of pain. It was the same .net update that got me yesterday, got me this morning. (it won't get me a third time) I tried the uninstall yesterday and it didn't go smoothly...not sure I ever got it fully uninstalled...so I'm hesitant to waste my time again. I took advantage of the reinstall to finally use the 'transfer' option in CUI to move my toolbars instead of copying over the c3d.cuix file that I've been doing for the past 3 releases. I realized I was missing some new toolbar buttons. Back to the problem...I even tried a system restore this morning but that didn't resolve the problem. I think the easiest course of action for me is to try a remove and reinstall of civil 3d.

Was able to reinstall after following these instructions:

Uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) 14.34.31931

Go to "Programs and Features" in "Control Panel".

Search for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) 14.34.31931 and try to uninstall it.

Reboot the system.

Install the software.

Note : If the message "No action was taken as a system reboot is required" shows up while uninstalling the Visual C++, consider the steps after the following screenshot.

Did the reinstall and I'm still receiving the message " Unable to run AutoCAD. A dependent component Microsoft .NET is missing or you don't have sufficient rights to run AutoCAD.

I am having the same problem with AutoCAD 2025. I just installed it today and I am getting the "Unable to run AutoCAD LT. A dependent component (Microsoft .NET) is missing or you do not have sufficient rights. Install the missing component or reinstall AutoCAD". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling ASP.net 6 and 8. AutoCAD 2024 still works, so I can use that for now. Any ideas on what to try next? Thanks!

It's best to put a support ticket in. It's unfortunately a known issue with 2025 and a recent Windows update.

Hi all,

Just thought I would add that this has happened to me twice now over the last 12months and both times I have fixed it by doing a clean uninstall and reinstall.

Please note a clean uninstall is following this link to the letter, simply uninstalling the program itself is not enough and does not fix it when reinstalling
How to perform a Clean Uninstall of Autodesk products on Windows

hope that helps someone in the future

Kind Regards Jack
