Installation AC Mech 2015 with .NET 4.6

Hello,

I need to roll out AutoCAD Mechanical 2015 German to various systems with Windows 7 and with .NET 4.6 installed.

It is not possible to touch the clients before so tweaking the regsitry or uninstalling .NET 4.6 is not an option.

Therefore it seems to be necessary to somehow modify the setup.ini.

According to the knowledge base entry https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-NET-4-5-is-not-installed-when-attempting-to-install-Autodesk-2016-products-on-Windows-10.html you should do the follwing:

"Within your installation folder, modify the setup.ini or <deployment name>.ini using Notepad. Search for the section [ACADE], [ACADE_LP], [ACADECONTENT] AND [ACADECONTENT_LP]. Add the following line:

But I still get the error that the AutoCAD Language Pack - English cannot be installed due to missing .NET 4.5 (s. attachement).

Are there any other Ini-Files that need to be changed or are my settings in the Inifile incorrect. I have logged a case with Autodesk support but unfortunately they are only refererring to the Knowledge base article.

I'd be curious to know if you made any progress with this issue. Not having the ability to install 4.5.2 and/or modifying your registry is going to be a problem. I know of no work around.

unfortunately not.

According to a member of Autodesk Support who did a remote session on a machine that i prepared for this scenario this issue cannot be solved since the check for the preqequisites is hard-coded in AutoCAD Mechanical and cannot be bypassed in the setup.ini.

There now seems to be a new article in AKN that describes how one could change the MSI files itself with ORCA but I haven't tried that yet for Mechanical 2015 German ...

Try InstEd It!. What I did is add the ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0 to all exe_param in all of the ini and modified all .mst to remove the check. I managed to install Mechanical this way. You must do it for the language pack too.

Another way I'm currently doing right now is to directly alter the msi file and remove the launchcondition that it check for dotnet. I'm having a headache with infrastructure design suite premium because the launcher doesn't use all of the MST that are generated (bravo Autodesk....)

Just watch out because it doesn't always work. I manage to have mechanical work that way, but I can't get Civil 3D to install properly, I even modified the msi directly and now it's giving other errors... Really, autodesk could simply put a really simple hotfix in place...

Your way with modifying the msi and save that as .mst is the right way.

But you have to check all tables and correct.appropriate.

I just read the article from AKN. But in my opinion it is better to correct the launch condition instead of delete. For my cases I used it worked.

Yes generally you can also modify the msi directly.

But then you break the digital signature. And I'm not sure if this is legal (to modify a file when you are not the owner)

I do not know your special case, but normally you can modify the setup.ini file and append the missing commands. i.e. to use a special .mst or append properties.

You should never change a msi file directly, even right now my installation still doesn't work. When it get to storm and analysis, it says it required either civil 3d or map to be installed, but they are!

Ok, now, I'm stuck at "Autodesk Autocad Utility Design 2015". It's giving me a new error:

"Internal Error 2229. LaunchCondition, Select `Condition`,`Description`FROM `LaunchCondition`"

Weird thing is I though that would be a problem, so instead of removing the condition, I've put "0=0 OR" in the condition, so it's always true.

In the msi packages I know, autodesk does a system search to check for the appropriate .NET framework. Then use the result as "install condition".

To repair I prefer to correct the search for the .NET (the same way they do in 2016 version).

Then the launch condition will also work.

I hope that I can download tomorrow, then I will post the solution.

Oh yeah that. This is not the problem because I changed that line. Before it was saying error .net 4.5 isn'T installed. Now, this line (in the msi) start with "0=0 OR", which mean it's always true.
