Display issue with Surface Pro 4

Hello everyone!

I had the Surface Pro 4 last week, and just began playing with it... but as I installed 3ds Max for low poly modeling purposes, I had a bad surprise when launching it. As you can see below, the icons and the overall interface is way to small... Is there any known way to fix this?

try changing the DPI settings in windows

Doesn't fix it, Surface Pro 4 is running on Windows 10 if it helps...

i don't understand the help system. I have the same problem. New surface Pro 4. installed trial version of autocad LT. Looks like it installs as 2015. I have a monitor attached to the docking station. the text size and different tabs do not display right. Are there any solutions?

3DS MAX does not support 4K. Very dissipointing, I know.

3DS MAX does not support 4K. Very dissipointing, I know. I purchased a 4K screen and 3DS MAX is the only program that doesn't scale. I reached out to NVIDIA and they said, and I qoute, "the software doesn't support 4k, so there is nothing they can do".

What does that mean? no autocad LT on a surface pro 4 or I need a new monitor.

You'll have to use Window's Scaling, for me 200%. It look aweful, but at least I can still work.

Right mouse click on your desktop and pick Display Settings.Drag the slider to the right.

I have the same issue. How did u manage? Did u find a solution? There has to be a way to fix this!

As far as I know there are no solutions. On my 32" 4K, I have my 3DS MAX 1/2 screen, which works for me, however, I have to strain to see things. I was having a very hard time working yesterday, trying to see menu items, which is a terrable way to work.

I was told there is no fix. Actually my viewing text size changes often by itself. I have not figured it out. I don't use Autocad often anyways. Sorry

I do not wanna believe that there is no remedy. That's absurd! Not even a crack or something? This is ridiculous. Seriously! We even pay for these services! Who should I go complain to?

To me, it's hard to understand that Autodesk didn't see this coming. I think Autodesk is playing the Apple game and they are not even seeing it as an issue. Who, after all, even uses a 4K screen, which seems to be their response.

I know this thread is getting stale but...

It's just sooo freakin' sad! I was so stoked to get my new suface pro specifically for the purposes of modeling wherever and whenever. By far the most I have ever spent on a computer. Not sure if I should send it back.

This problem is mind boggeling. 4k has nothing to do with it. I can set my surface pro's resolution to 1920x1080 and it makes no difference. Just a bunch of tiny unreadable buttons.

For what it's worth, the Adobe products seem to have the same problem.

OK I found a solution!

Well sort of. You can make the tiny buttons the correct size at the cost of making things that were displaying correctly huge. I think it looks better, but still not great.

You can "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" with solution 2:

At least I found this before I gave a presentation tomorrow so everyone can see what the heck I'm clicking on.

Go look for solutions with .manifest files, and yes, you need to untick the compatible option from properties.

Yes, that's a well-documented solution for Adobe, and somewhat works with Autodesk, however, you'll find it only works some of the time. It is a workaround and for me, just seemed to stop working altogether.
