Hi,

Yes, i tried all those solutions, but none worked.

I actually just found a “solution/workaround” to the problem: my computer has an italian version of Windows 10. Since i noticed that acadres.dll was missing in the “en-US” folder, i thought that maybe installing the italian version would fix the problem. I uninstalled the english non-working program, and reinstalled the italian version of autocad, and it worked! I noticed that this installation created an additional folder “it-IT”, that wasn’t there in the english version, that contained this “acadres.dll”. I actually would like to have the english version instead, since most tutorials/lessons are relative to the english version. Do you believe this is a bug in the Autocad Installer? If you know a solution to this problem i would like to try it.

Once again, thank you very much,

Camilla

Hi,

I am a univeristy student, so I can have a free version of autoCAD for 3 years. Using my university email, I downloaded the 64-bit version of autoCAD 2016 for Windows. I am running 64-bit version of Windows 10. After installing the product, i get a message that says "Problem loading acadres.dll resource file." and after pressing ok, it says: "FATAL ERROR...". I found many posts on this and other forums suggesting to reinstall autoCAD after deleting all the Microsoft c++ redistributables, disabling antivirus, disabling hardware acceleration.. I tried to download the autocad 2016 SP1, but it says that it was already updated.. NONE of these solutions worked. I am pretty desperate by now, it's the 4th time i have reinstalled autoCAD without success. I installed the 30 day trial version of autoCAD 2016 on a friend of mine's computer, running 64-bit of Windows, and found the "acadres.dll" in the "en-US" folder, in the installation directory. I noticed that it was completely missing on my computer, together with many other dll files in the "en-US" subfolder. How is this possible? I tried copying over these files, and the initial splash screen appears, but than it gets stuck while trying to load the main interface, without giving any errors. I installed autoCAD not on my main disk C, but on a different partition: i don't think this should be a problem either.

What can i do?

thanks in advance,

Camilla
