2017 Network Licence Query

Will the network Licence for Autocad 2017 allow the previous 5 versions to run as well ( as the DWG format hasn't changed ) ;

or will updating the licence manager to allow 2017 - kill off the 2013 products ?

Network licencing normally allows the previous 4 versions ....

ie current network licences 2016 - allow us to continue to run 2013 product on the network' ( yes we still run 2013 )

just trying to plan my workload 😕

Autodesk network license has nothing to do with the Autodesk .DWG file version.

If you are active with your maintenance or desktop/term/rental subscribtion then you are entitled 3 legacy versions in addition to the current version. So when your 2017 product is released you updated license file will include 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014.

Updating the license manager won't have any effect, but updating the license file will (as pointed out by @Mark.Lancaster )

If you have a legitimate business reason for running 2013 (such as you have an add-on that is only compatible for that version), you may be granted rights to continue to run it. Contact your reseller.

as i expected. current plus previous three.

Just means i have lots(all) of the 2013 users to move up to 2017 when i upgrade the licence manager.

We would normally only shift versions if the dwg format changed.
giving us a few years grace before having to upgrade PC's .

Again, upgrading the license manager will not affect your ability to run 2013. Of course if you plan to stick with 2013, there is no reason to upgrade the LM.

You are talking about 2 different things in your postings.

As @rkmcswain pointed out twice.. If you upgrade the license manager (LMTOOLS) there's no impact on AutoCAD 2013 users since its still using the same license file you currently hance.

If you enable your new license file for the 2017 version yes it will impact your AutoCAd 2013 users. However as rkmcswain also pointed out earlier if you have a business need to continue with AutoCAD 2013 you can put in a request to continue to run AutoCAD 2013. Your license file will be updated to include 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013.
