serial number for ACAD 2017

I recently purchased ACAD 2017 and the serial number was provided. It fills in the blanks itself for the serial number and product key then proceeds to say that the serial number is invalid? What do I do?

It looks like you're getting an "Invalid Serial Number” message or having trouble with your product key while trying to register and activate your Autodesk software. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

For product key information: Finding Serial Numbers & Product Keys

If you’re having an issue with your product key, please make sure that you are using the correct one for your product (especially if your product comes from a suite). Finally, you should type then numbers and letters in. We do not recommend copy/paste.

Welcome to the community...

Just so I don't assume anything... Purchased means you actual bought a commercial license and this is not a free educational one? I know that questions sounds dumb but a lot of students come here and say the purchased a license when they really didn't (they got it for free).

If this is a commercial license for AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD 2017? Sorry for all the question but I don't know what information you have and etc.

Have you checked you Autodesk Account and confirm you have the right serial # for the right product?

commercial version of AutoCAD 2017 through Dell was purchased with the
computer

Ok thanks for the information... Have you logged in your Autodesk Account and confirm this serial # is correct.

When I logged into my account it filled in all the blanks for me with the
product key and serial number. I checked what it automatically filled in
and it was correct. I assumed at this point that Autodesk recognized my
purchase since it autocompleted.
