Thanks very much for helping me earlier. I decided to upgrade to Maya 2016 (with the same serial number) and it works fine. May be it was Autodesk's way to make me upgrade? ;- ) In any case, this is now resolved.       <title>Maya - Force-re-activation does not work</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I started up Maya 2014 (education version) yesterday, I was told that I have 7 days left before my license expires. There hasn't been any changes to my computer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I followed the instructions outlined in the post below a few times but to no avail.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Forcing-re-activation-of-product.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Forcing-re-activation-of-product.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I wonder if this requires some work on the Autodesk's back-end?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Would be grateful if anyone knows another way to resolve this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;bOOn&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Try deleting the _TSF file under C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet and then launch as Administrator and try to activate again.&amp;nbsp; It should hold...&lt;/P&gt;</description>

The problem persisted. Once I closed it and re-launched Maya, I was asked to activate again. Last evening I tried to restore my laptop to a point before this happened (on 1 Sep). That did not help too. Would reinstalling help?
