Student License Expired - Can't get new license

I am trying to use AutoCad 2014 64-bit on my laptop but the license expired. Every time I try to get a new license, it only shows the old license on Autodesk's license page. I have contacted AutoDesk twice and they have given me the same page that doesn't update the license. I thought this would be easy and am wondering if I missed something? Thanks in advance for your help

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry about the trouble. Once you have used the license up, you will have to get a different version license. You only get 3 years of a license for a particular version. You will have to download and use a different version of AutoCAD, such as AutoCAD 2015. Fortunately, you should be able to open all of your 2014 projects in AutoCAD 2015-2017.

Ah, so if I understand you correctly, I should get the latest version of
AutoCad, and by doing that, I will get a new license?

That is correct.. You are issued another 3 yr license for the latest version.

Update: Meaning you have to request it (http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad)

If i'm downloading the latest versin then Is it necessary to unstall the previous version??

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

No it is not necessary to uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. However if the previous version is no longer working than yes you should uninstall it at some point.
