Hi!

3Ds MAX subscription member here. Downloaded 3Ds MAX 2017, installed it and it crashes on startup (during the splash screen) every time.

Tried many fixes from all sorts of internet corners, tried uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting adlm and ENU folders - you name it.

Last time I checked the log it told me that it could not find the license or something like that, but it never even gives me an option to do so.... Can't copy the log because it no longer generates one 😞

Please help!

Hi, first, there is many causes for that kind of problem.

Here's the list in order of what i would try.

- Make sure all 3ds Max updates are installed

- Right click the shortcut, compatibility tab and enable "Run this program as an administrator"

- I would also probably check the NTFS Security on the folder c:\program files\Autodesk

- Try to completely disable your anti-virus and test again.

- Try to log as the local administrator and test again, could be a corruption or bad permissions in your Windows Profile.

- You can use a software like CCLEANER to clean your temp folders, can help in some cases.

- Try a clean uninstall and a clean reinstall of 3ds Max: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/installation-activation-licensing/get-ready/remove-products/remove-windows-products

- If you are not sure of your setup files, re-download the setup with the Autodesk Virtual Agent: http://autodesk.creativevirtual15.com/autodesk/bot.html?isJSEnabled=1&businessArea=Root.Front%20Desk&startContext=Root.Front%20Desk

Of course, i assumed that your computer meet the minimum requirements and all the Windows updates and drivers updates are installed.
