Myself and several collegues have been trying to share InfraWorks models offline by moving the files from one computer to another but cannot get the files to open at the moved location.

We have followed the instructions here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/infraworks/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/how-to-share-infraworks-model-offline.html

With both the .sqlite files and the supporting .file folder at the new computer location the models refuse to open. Tried it on multiple computers with multiple models, all using the same version of InfraWorks.

The only way we can transfer a model to another computer is to use the duplicate model command from within InfraWorks (see image) and save the model to a high level directory on the main drive before copying the files over to another computer.

Anyone have any thoughts why just copying the .sqlite and .file folder from the main InfraWorks models folder does not allow the model to be opened when transferring to another computer?

Thanks

Shot in the dark here:

Once you copied them over, right-click on the file and choose Properties. Is there an option to unblock the file?

Hi @Darren-teaches ,

maybe not all files are copied?

Does it work if you create a zip file of your model.sqlite and model.files folde, copy the zipped file to the new destination and extract there again? I suggest to use .7z or .rar as file format for the zipped file.

When you try to open the model and it does not work, what is recorded in the InfraWorks log file (C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs)?

Regards,

Karsten.

I actually think I found the solution. When I unzip the file in the standard AutoDesk location C:\Users\<<USER>>\Documents\Autodesk InfraWorks Models I noticed that it was not copying some of the files due to Windows complaining that it could not copy certain files due to the filenames being too long. So I uncopressed the files at the top level C:\ and then moved the files to C:\Users\<<USER>>\Documents\Autodesk InfraWorks Models and the model opens correctly now.
