Empty Surface Layers

Good day. I could not find anything similar on the forums, so appologies if this has been posted before...

I started a new model origianlly using model builder and then populated it with newer GIS data as it became available. However when I updated my Infraworks to a newer version (2019) and opened my model, all component roads hanged in the air. From what I could figure out, it was still linked to the ground surface created by model builder. Then I noticed all the empty layers under my surface layers (see image). Has anyone else seen something similar or found a solution to clean this up?

Hi @christian.vanderberg ,

I have never seen this. It could be an issue caused by upgrading the model.

How many data sources are in your model for terrain surfaces?

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi Karsten

The current model only have one data source for terrain. I removed the source that originally came in with the model when it was created using the model builder. However it seemed like some design roads were still linked to the old terrain levels. There was a substantial difference in levels between the different sources.

Only way I got rid of it was by creating a new model, added the correct terrain and image data, and the importing the original model as IMX.

This issue only occured when I upgraded my Infraworks to a newer version. During the upgrading of the model it created all the empty surface layers. I assume they were created by the model builder which I used to start the model originally. This was replaced by a lidar survey which is the tif file seen in the model.

Very strange.

So this was from a year version upgrade? (2018 to 2019) or a newer version of 2019?
