Are the shapefiles polygonal and are you using the data source so that closed polylines are converted to polygons?

hi,

After i imported my corridor from civil 3D to infraworks successfully, I tried to move the road striping using Shape Files (using the mapexport command).

the problem that i can't see any of the lines even after i configured the shape file (as a coverage areas - saw a lot of people do that on youtube).

can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? i think there is no problem with the CS because i already imported the corridor surface and the rendar materials without any problems.

thank you in Advance,

khaled

Hi @khaledCULN8 ,

in addition to @roskirko 's suggestions, can you try to move the data source a bit up in Z-direction? Maybe it's just covered by other features?

Regards,
Karsten.

Roskirko,

no, I'm importing regular lines not polygons.

khaled

Karsten,

I already tried that. unfortunately the outcome was the same. I can't see the striping lines from the shape file.

i even tried to import the same lines in a sdf format but it didn't work.

khaled

Hi,

When configuring the source, if you go to the 'table' tab, and set the 'buffer' to the width of your road markings, hopefully they will show up.

Hope that helps,

Harry

An alternative workflow if you have polylines only - load them as barriers, adjust barrier width and color as desired.

Regards,
Karsten.

Polygons work the best.

Also, as Karsten suggested, you may have to "lift" the coverage up a bit off the terrain to see it (adjust the Z coordinate in the Properties tab). And Harry's point about the buffer size is pertinent for lines if you do not use polygons.
