Hi @namlt33 ,

the model isn't really broken.
The error message that is displayed states that a filename path is too long. So the overall path length exceeds the 255 characters limit.

Navigate to the model files folder "\Resources\LandXML\" and delete the folder "97739458-8023-48ea-9b5b-a35133bdc7fd" - maybe better not delete it, but create a back-up.
This will remove the LandXML data source with the long file path. If this was the only issue, you should be able to open the model again and then reconnect the LandXML data source.

And - please change the model save folder to a local drive. Your model is located on OneDrive. This will lead to data corruption sooner or later, see https://knowledge.autodesk.com/article/Error-Unable-to-Open-Model-in-InfraWorks

sorry for not being clear. I meant to create a copy of the folder for a backup before you delete the folder.

To create a full backup of a model, just copy the model database (model.files folder plus model.sqlite file).
Is it possible to share the model? For sharing, create a zip file of the model.files folder plus model.sqlite file and send the single zip file.

Please let me know if you need a OneDrive folder to upload the file.

I wonder isn't it time for dev to put the file name's limit to a higher number of characters, it 2024 you know.

the character limitation is not on the InfraWorks side, but on Windows, see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/maximum-file-path-limitation?tabs=registry.

The link you had provided mention about enable long paths. Is this work for my case? My work flow require a lot of data source file need to import and readjust into IW (i assumed that this may create a long file path)

Hi @namlt33 ,

you run into a "filename too long" issue, for example:

<LI-CODE lang="general">Resources/IMX/af115fca-a5f7-4802-b4ec-732da0ed88de/62D404.aecc.7B75B2EC88BA0386A089E81308BF8529.BF84BD57B0C82894C04227DDDEB9063D.B07EEF2EE7297ED02F818058AF699B1C.1700F24E72C7F5100142534D043AE6A1.6419CBF21A43D6D0C9B3449115586BF4.74468ADC6CE32322B58FB964332D3521.pnt': Filename too long</LI-CODE>

This is a known issue and is supposed to be fixed with the next update/HotFix. The issue is that the filenames for IMX data sources (for example all Civil 3D DWG added data sources) are doubling.
The only workaround at the moment is:

Delete the subfolders in the IMX folder of the model.files database.

Open the InfraWorks model.

Reconnect to the Civil 3D DWG imported data sources.

(The path for local InfraWorks models is pointing to OneDrive/Documents. I suggest changing this to a local drive/folder to avoid issues with local models.)

Regards,

Karsten.
