Hi there,

You said that Step #2 was not working for you? Can you provide a little more information about this? Also, which version of InfrraWorks 360 are you using?

You can check this by opening Application Options, clicking About on the General Tab, and writing down the version number, which for the most recent release would be 2016.3.556.0

CityGML import is cloud-only, and requires a connection of Autodesk 360 online services. If you are using InfraWorks 360 LT it's possible this import option wouldn't be available to you. I will double-check that and report back.

I didn't encounter any difficulty with importing a CityGML file into my model. I opened the data sources panel, clicked the add file datasource dropdown and clicked CityGML. Then I navigated to the directory on my local system where the CityGML data is located, and selected it, then clicked Open. My CityGML data imported correctly.

One other thought is that you will want to check your CityGML file version. InfraWorks 360 currently supports CityGML file versions 0.3.0, 0.4.0, 1.0.0, 2.0.0. You may want to consult this Supported File Formats reference for more information.

Hello,

Now I have a file with CityGML format(AA.gml) exported from GongBuilder program which is made in Korea.

GongBuilder program shows just 3D building located in Korea when the original file is opened(AA.gpl).

And the problem is

I was just trying to do same thing using instruction on this website

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/infraworks-360/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/InfraWorks-UserHelp/files/GUID-6FDFA5CF-9CB0-47B8-B77F-656B9745186A-htm.html

But it just doesn't work at the step two. And for the other file I can go to next step but I don't know how to finally show the .gml file(3D building) on my screen!....

What should I do?

Do you think the CityGML format file exported from the program has problem?

Thanks for anyone helping me!

Thank you very much for your kindness.

First, I'm using INFRAWORKS 360(version : 16.3.556.0) and tried with other file(downloaded from other website which is sample cityGML file).

I imported CityGML file at the Data Sources Panel and after doing configuring the data, I could see grey rectangle on the Earth.

How can I designate level of degree?

And actually, my final goal is to put topology(assign node and visualize specific path). For example, I want to show red line from first floor room 10 to third floor room 20. Is it possible using Infraworks?

Thank you

Hi there,

Your sceenshot looks a bit like a units/coordinate system mismatch.

Please make sure that the CS you assigned in InfraWorks 360 is the one of your CityGML file. One of the first lines of your file should contain a CS entry.

You mentaioned ' level of degree'. If you mean 'level if detail', then have a look at the Autodesk Knowledge Network article that was mentioned earlier in this post.

Best,
