@Anonymous, here is a screencast in which I show a workflow on how to get your project on the exact location, a Revit model coming from Navisworks as FBX into InfraWorks 360:

Let me know if this helps you out?

Hi,

I am trying to import an IFC file created in Allplan. When imported in Infraworks I cant see anything. When I import the file into navisworks it works fine.

A FBX export from Navisworks wont work as well in IW. When configuring it shows a refresh failure. Does anybody know a workflow to get the Allplan IFC imported?

Thanks!

This article lists the supported items of IFC files. Maybe there's an unsupported item that causing it to fail?

Another option you could try is import the IFC into Revit then import the RVT file into InfraWorks. You'll have to create a custom 3D view in Revit for InfraWorks.

By default, InfraWorks 360 looks for a Revit view to import in the following order:

A view named with the prefix "navis", such as navis-importview.

The default 3D view, named {3D}.

The last-opened 3D view.

What about Revit to FBX to InfraWorks? I don't have much faith that it will work given what's already happened to you but just trying to exhaust as many options as possible.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

@Anonymous, what version of InfraWorks 360 are you using? The latest 17.1.44.0 or an older version?

Also, do you use the default cloud importer or did you change this to the Local importer? Since you have Navisworks you can also try a Local conversion using the Navisworks Server Engine because you mentioned that in Navisworks it looks fine.

Let me know how this works out for you?

@Anonymous, If you used the Local importer, then you should have a new NWC generated somewhere in the folder of your original IFC. Open that NWC directly in Navisworks and let me know how that looks?
