Turn off Reflections on Pavement

Using version 17.1.44.0.

I have reflections showing up on pavement and other surfaces that should not reflect. The power pole near the top is the best example but the vehicles are doing it too. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Are the reflections created when you render? If so, I've found that the images created using the Snapshot (in my opinion) are better than the rendered ones.

Are you referring to the shadows? If so they can be turned off within the Application Options>3D Graphics>Shadows check box:

Not the shadows. Note how they are going to the right in the image, but see the power pole near the top of the image. If that's a shadow its going the wrong way. If you look closely you can also see reflections from the cars going a different direction too.

Unfortunately, at the moment there is no way to adjust the reflections or specular properties of materials in InfraWorks.

I *think* that we could add a specular map in the alpha channel of all of our textures. That would allow us to actually paint the specularity using a grey scale version of the texture, which is pretty common in game engines and 3D modeling tools. That would allow you to get a flat finish for asphalt, or a glossy finish on tiles with flat finish in the grout between them.

Sorry that I cant give you a better solution. I'll speak to some of our development teams about adding in some specular settings.

Thank you for the reply. You all are really getting much better at responding and offering solutions. Even if there isn't one it really helps because we can stop looking.
