Infraworks Error message - won't open

Hello,

I'm getting an error message when i try to open Infraworks (see attached).

I've done the usual reinstall etc. and wondered if anyone knows how to resolve this?

Scrap that, it's not resolved.

I see that some people have had the same issue with Maya.

This seems to be a Windows issue not an IW problem

Hi tmachado,

Thanks for that but unfortunately it's not worked.

I'm at a loss now as what to try next.

If i repair/reinstall IW it opens the first time, then after that doesn't open again. Only way i'm able to do any work is to 'reinstall' IW every time i want to open it.

Hi Tmachado,

Yes, still getting the error message.

I've raised a support case but the advice of 'uninstall everything infraworks related' hasn't worked.

Really frustrated as you can imagine (the time lost on this project due to this is now building up to close to 20 hrs).

The next suggestion i assume will be to remove all Autodesk products...........................and i'm not even sure this will resolve anything.

I am wondering if a simple substitution of the DLL file can fix your issue, based on the information from here:

I have attached the DLL from my system (InfraWorks 2018.1).

Thanks for that, i'll give it a go tonight (going to uninstall and reinstall whilst watching some TV).

Hello,

Unfortunately it's gone back to the original crash (it did work for a while). Although it's a few Qt5 files now that are failing, not just the original (suppose i should be grateful for the change of error message scenery).

I've gone to the lengths of uninstalling ALL my autodesk products and reinstalling them........................and it still doesn't work.

I have to reinstall Infraworks now whenever i want to work on it (i have a project that was expected to take 2 weeks so at least once a day if Infraworks doesn't crash).

Hi @Anonymous

it sounds more as if the issue is somewhere on your system.
Is it possible to send the InfraWorks log files from C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs ?

Can you also send the system information (via a private message)?

Is the file I have sent you still listed in the error message? Maybe it's worth a try if I send you the other files as well?

Hello,

Current situation is:

I use the Qt5 files that Karsten sent to replace the Qt5 files on my machine whenever i want to open Infraworks.

If i try and import any Styles etc. Infraworks crashes, doesn't load the styles and i have to repeat the Qt5 process again.

I've removed and reinstalled everything i can think of, other than doing a total factory reset of my machine i'm baffled.

Frustrated about the styles issue as i had some very useful UK Styles that i was using.
