Oh, man. I don't know how I overlooked that. 😕

I've been creating component road styles for the past week. I'm just going to chalk it up to being burnt out. I may need to re-evaluate how I build some of my roads.

*hangs head low and slowly walks away*

Thanks.

Modeling multiple curb cuts / entrances

Looking for some guidance on how to model multiple business entrances / curb cuts (like below).

For the most part it looks okay, even though the intersections can't be properly modeled because they're too close.

My biggest gripe right now is the striping and they way it breaks up through each intersection, so I'm looking for a quick way to represent the striping without having to do a lot of extra work. Currently, I'm leaning towards doing a raster overlay but if there's a way I can eliminate that step it would be appreciated. Thoughts? Suggestions?

In the interest of time (and simplicity) I decided to split the curb component and delete the segment. It's not as clean and doesn't return into the drive but it gets the point across but more importantly, it keeps the striping along roadway.

Matt,

Try using Component roads, use sidewalk as intersecting driveway.

This gains you the curb cut without affecting the center-line pavement markings.

I am using component roads which is why I'm able to split/delete the curbing.

In your example, it's still creating an intersection (see the arrows). Are you using JUST a sidewalk component? And how do you change the width of the sidewalk?

In the end, I simply ended up splitting the curb component which kept the white line running through the entrance. Using roads for the entrances was not a viable solution because many of the entrances were extremely close to each other so intersections would have been a problem. To model the parking lots I used a coverage area with a matching material applied.

Dear @Matt__W !
To me, I think the easiest way to create curb and sidewalk is using the Design Road in Infraworks 2018. I did create alignment in civil 3d and then import these into infraworks, apply style rule to Barrier, city Furniture, POI, Coverage and Street and this is the result . It took me about 10 mins to create infraworks model since I have a finish civil 3d file.
