Well you definitely have answered my questions, thanks for clarifying.

So do I now hit "mark as solution", now that I know there is no way to do what I want?

BTW, another annoying thing is every time you go to export a video, the bitrate resets to 1,500kb. That is super low, I am using like 8000 on 1920x1080 videos to get decent smoothness. I wonder how many users have forgot to reset that, made a video, then sent out because "it looked good last time I exported". I've already had to remake a few because of this.

Storyboard - set times (and interpolate method) between frames all at once?

I know how to add key frames to a storyboard, but the spacing between seems arbitrary.

I want to set all to 4 seconds between and use Interpolate Focus Point for all.

Its getting old selecting each frame for this, can I do all at once or even set the defaults to this?

thanks

Great question! While looking at your post, I see two parts:

Is there a place that default settings can be saved for Infraworks Storyboard settings?

Unfortunately, there is not a way save default storyboard settings.

Is there a way to select multiple Keyframes and apply settings for them in Infraworks, specifically to apply Interpolate to Focus and Time to next frame?

Selecting multiple Keyframes in the storyboard creator is also not possible currently, so being able to globally apply a Interpolate focus point setting to multiple Keyframes in one instance is not possible. Also in turn there would not be the ability to set the times to next frame at the same instances.

Ha, yeah thanks, marking that just helps others be directed to an answer should they look for it in a search engine. Unfortunately, "Solved" is not much of a contextually correct thing in this instance, as it is intended as a mechanism to identify useful information for other users when they have similar questions.

Thank you for your content, posts, and questions, it's really beneficial, to so many people that read your input.

The default settings for the video output and not being able to "set" them in a intersession manner seems like a great idea in a production environment. Maybe worth mentioning in the Civil Ideas Pages? Thanks again!

Guilty as charged!

I've been running my bitrate at 10500k lately, seems to be the sweet spot for my projects. This setting also saves a couple clicks and keystrokes 😉 Click, add zero, done. The resetting of this setting is quite annoying for sure. I would suggest adding these to the Ideas board.

The (non) Solution is correct for the GUI / Storyboard Editor.

However, you can export the storyboard to a JSON file, open this with any text editor (or preferable a code based editor like UltraEdit or Notepad++), and edit the "TransitionMethod" (0,1,2) and time/speed fields for individual keyframes or script/marco to edit multiple entries.

Excerpt below for 1 keyframe (of 298) , in UltraEdit I used a Macro to filter through the keyframes and transpose the 'target' position of each to +5 keyframes down the road (100m), this significantly reduced the jerky-ness of the playback which typically looks at the next keyframe position (20m).

Still a pretty average result considering how smooth it could/should be animating a 'drive thru'...

{
"KeyframeModel": {
"TransitionMethod": 0,
"Duration": 1.6000554938667406,
"Speed": 12.5,
"WaitingTime": 0,
"SpeedControl": 0,
"Name": "Keyframe Station: 5860.00",
"Id": "df830b89-a96c-4e8b-80f6-439fbfd1fcbc",
"Warning": "",
"ViewPoint": {
"VP": [
[ -4947701.0219341237, 469551.xxx-xxxxxxxx, -3984228.9654229293 ],
[ -4947630.0458014794, 469451.xxx-xxxxxxxx, -3984329.4251242108 ],
[ -0.83714999631047249, 0.079154910636134446, -0.67772736679762602 ]
],
"WorldUp": [ -0.77469716792157284, 0.073521131224658046, -0.62804374153218101 ],
"WorldNorth": [ -0.62523443759451836, 0.059336660873420752, 0.77817803793364604 ],
"WorldEast": [ -0.094478548148035857, -0.99552689764759206, 0 ]
}
}
},
