hsmworks problem with Solidworks ..

Hey Guys ,

Please see the below google drive link having the video of the problem that I am currently facing.

I am currently having this issue when I installed HSMWORKS 2018 in my system having Solidworks 2017 . Whenever I call for an operation (CAM) and try to generate the toolpath - immediately Some other backend windows popup and get populated and doesn't allow to work further - Please see the task manager in my video

May I know the cause and solution for this problem

Note : in the same machine I installed inventor 2018 and inventor hsm 2018 and there is no issue with it ..

Hi -

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is an issue that's been around for a very long time, which seems to come and go with different releases of HSMWorks. Have you tried other builds -- e.g., one of the development builds?

I have installed Hsmworks in Solidworks 2017 R2 ...

I just saw the development version link that u had suggested .. which hsmworks version must I install ?

I would just try the latest to start, under Development Versions. The latest currently is

HSMWorks2018-R3.42420.

I too have the same problem in Solidworks 2017 SP2,

I Followed your steps which you told in your post. I installed the latest version of HSMWorks2018-R3.42420. But the same problem, many windows are opens in the back end. Please gave me a solution for this as soon as possible.

You seem to be working for the same company, so there might be something in your IT environment that contributes to this.

What version of Windows are you using?

What are the PC specs?

What graphics cards and drivers do you have?

Make sure you are also on the latest SW service pack, I beleave it s 3.0

is this a laptop?

and as Laurens asked, what about video type, if it is integrated intel graphics it pulls from your ram starving your machine from working properly.

4gig of ram is barely enough to run windows 7 yet alone run SW and hsmworks because they are graphics hogs.

There is no i7 2600 laptop part, it's a desktop. But it's also a 6-year-old Sandy Bridge CPU so frankly it's probably time for an upgrade if it's not the K model.

There is no mobile-designated i7-2600 CPU.

All the other questions are valid though, the iGPU on this CPU would be miserable in any CAD program for instance, and even moreso with only 4GB system RAM.

I also tried the HSM Works latest version on Solidworks SP3. But also the same problem of many windows opened in back end.Is there any other solution to solve this issue.

What you have just shown is all hardware graphics issues!

Is SW the only software running besides Windows?

And you still haven't give us what graphics card is on your system.

Graphics card - AMD Radeon HD 6450

Driver Version - 8.783.2.2000

This is the video card of that system.
