topic Injection mold CNC in HSM Forum

Hi,

I'm currently doing a university project involving injection moulding and performing a CNC process afterwards. I'm struggling with what processes to use within the program and understanding if the part is CNC machined correctly. Please advise, I'm happy to send the part file across if anyone can help.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum. First we need a lot more information as your discription is very veg. Please describe what it is you want to machine on the part, include pics of the before and after so we can help you determine a solution. The 3D solid will not really help without.

Nanton93,

I feel your pain. I remember machining a plastic injection mold for a senior level manufacturing course and not knowing where to begin.

I am now a tooling engineer and design molds for a living, I'd love to offer any help I can.

Could you upload some images of your mold design or maybe some part files?
