Mastercam Tools

Hello all,

I am reasonably new to HSM, so I apologzie if this is a repeat but I couldnt find the answer in a search.

I have been a mastercam user for a long time and have a reasonably extensive tool library. I see in HSM tool library the option to import tools and it has a mastercam option for tools and holders.

I tried the export in mastercam, but when I select HSM to import that text file nothing appears to happen. I would have thot it would throw an error if anything, but nothing.

If anyone has used this feature and has some input, I would greatly appreciate it and not having to spend MANY hours re-inputting all my tools.

Btw: Mastercam version 2017 and HSM 2017.

What does mastercam output for a file?
I mean HSM is pretty picky about what kind of files it can import.

Mastercam can output what it calls a 'report' and also a 'detailed report'

The interesting this is that in HSM it give the option for Mastercam .TXT files and this is what is output from Mastercam.

I think you are exporting each tool and it wants a whole library at once.
