is there a newer release if so where do i find it and update

Thats the same one I run, the Autodesk Desktop App should show you an update if there is one.

i was thinking the same thing... but when i watch the videos on the inventor page....the video that talks about whats new...towardrs the end of the video it talks about converting sketch and tetxt lines to geometry for engraving ...laser engraving etc etc ... it says its inventor dot3 version

another question....if i download and install the latest beta version of inventor hsm pro.... will it be a second seperate install of it or will it replace my current installation of inventor

Beta version of Inventor HSM is only upgrade to your existing HSM.
So, if you only have an Inventor without HSM you cannot install beta version of HSM. You need to install official version first and then BETA version.
